Zimbabwe (Lonely Planet Guide)

About 5km from the town centre you'll find this friendly, secure and quiet lodge run by Allan Burke. Rates include linen and the use of the pool, barbecue, video, laundry and cooking facilities. You can catch a commuter minibus from the corner of Twelfth Ave and Josiah Tongogara St for US$0.50. It's on a large and leafy estate and the entrance is only 200m from the Mabukuwene Nature Reserve.

Zimbabwe: The Rough Guide

6km south of the centre is unquestionably the coolest hostel in town. Set in twelve rambling acres of peaceful garden, it has a block of five no-frills double rooms next to the pool, and a detached cottage that contains a five-bed dorm, kitchen and a small shop selling bread, cheese, milk, oats, fruit and vegetables. The owners, who live on the same property, are friendly and obliging.
